Honey Gingerbread recipe
Touched with honey, this holiday gingerbread loaf sparkles with sweetness, a bit of zest, and lots of spice. Served with fresh ice cream, it's a sheer delight.
Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream
1 cup honey
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
Ice cream, for serving
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a loaf pan.
2) In a medium bowl, beat together sour cream and honey. Add oil and egg; beat to mix. Set aside.
3) In a large bowl, sift together flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add egg mixture and mix until just combined.
4) Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan. Bake 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm with ice cream.
